What are the life stages of a quarry?
What are the most suitable solutions for dust suppression and control when the quarry is in full operation?
What benefits can hydroseeding and erosion control activities provide when the quarry reaches depletion?
These three questions were answered by Federico Tecchio, Owner and Sales Manager of Full Service Green Solutions, in the article presented below.
So, all that’s left for you to do is continue reading to discover Full Service’s solutions.

A quarry is born, enters its full extraction phase, and eventually depletes.
Full Service Green Solutions, a commercial and service company based in the province of Padua, was a pioneer in Italy in developing specific technical solutions for the revegetation and renaturalization of quarries and degraded areas and environments. As early as the 1980s, they offered a wide range of products and equipment for erosion control, soil maintenance, and restoration. Not only that, since the 2000s, in addition to innovative, ecological, and eco-friendly solutions in the field of hydroseeding and soil protection, they have introduced specific solutions for dust suppression and control.
We discussed this at the RPR quarry with Federico Tecchio, Owner and Sales Manager of Full Service Green Solutions, who is also a member of the Goods and Services Section of A.N.E.P.L.A. He explained: “For every stage of a quarry’s life, Full Service can offer the most suitable solution, ranging from dust suppression and control when the quarry is in full operation to hydroseeding and erosion control when certain quarry areas reach depletion and need to be revegetated and restored. As is clear,” he continued, “we operate in two situations and moments that are highly regulated by legislation, which requires both dust suppression and control and environmental recovery.”
Regarding dust suppression and control, Full Service Green Solutions offers both biodegradable eco-friendly polymers that do not need to be mixed with water and additives that, after being mixed with water, reduce the number of watering interventions by up to 50%, thus reducing labor and equipment maintenance costs while also saving a considerable amount of water.
As Tecchio highlights: “We all know how precious water is and how increasingly essential it is to use it wisely, both domestically and professionally, in order to avoid wasting such an important resource. For this reason,” he continues, “we are committed to spreading the message that using water for dust suppression is not only environmentally unfriendly but also uneconomical, and does little to actually solve the problem. By using our eco-friendly solutions instead,” Tecchio specifies, “we are able to control PM10 and PM2.5 dust for several months with a single application of special polymers, which work by binding and making the fine particles of the material heavier, so that when vehicles pass by, the dust does not rise. Additionally,” Tecchio points out, “these polymers do not evaporate, do not freeze, and remain active on the surface of the ground, making them effective even on dust that settles after their application.”

Regarding additives to be mixed with water, Tecchio continues, “our Ecoroad Plus is a liquid agent that, after being mixed with water, reduces the number of watering interventions by up to 50%, cutting costs not only for water consumption but also for labor and equipment maintenance. Depending on the type of terrain and vehicular traffic, Full Service is able to provide the best solution and the most effective product capable of controlling and suppressing dust for several months. Only two or three applications of the right product per year are needed to safely solve the problem,” Tecchio emphasizes, “since all our products are eco-friendly, which is very important. They are certified by the U.S. EPA, the American Environmental Protection Agency, and can be used in all quarries, even those near water basins.”

Customized solutions are also offered for another phase of the quarry’s life cycle, namely its environmental recovery (which is necessary even while the quarry is still operational), through enhanced hydroseeding, heavy hydroseeding, and hydroseeding with green wood fibers for extensive soil coverage and revegetation. As Tecchio highlights: “Depending on the type of quarry, the extraction method, and the material being mined, we are able to provide flexible and customized solutions that comply with the various regional regulations. We operate throughout Italy and abroad, leveraging our over thirty years of experience,” Tecchio emphasizes, “working closely with our suppliers to provide a complete solution, from project design to the final planting of trees, always treading lightly to leave the smallest possible footprint while ensuring full environmental protection.”
